As the weather gets colder, your skin feels the pain first. Dry air and therefore dry skin is my worse enemy of the winter months.. Keep reading to find out two different ways to prevent, treat and soothe cracked heels with extra virgin olive oil and never worry about it again!

DIY KEVOO Heel scrub

One of the best ways to get rid of dead skin cells from the surface of your heels is to use an exfoliating scrub. There are plenty of store-bought scrubs available in the market, but they can be really expensive and full of harmful chemicals. Making your own sugar-kevoo scrub is easy, frugal and truly effective, plus you only need the two ingredients!

You will need:

1/2cup brown sugar

½ cup extra virgin olive oil

How to make it

Mix the sugar with the extra virgin olive oil until a paste-like consistency is achieved.

How to store it

Store in an air tight container, preferably in the fridge.

How to use it

Wet your feet. It would be a great idea to use the scrub right after taking a shower or bath. Apply the sugar-oil heel scrub directly to your feet and rub gently with your palm to remove dead skin. Massage for a few minutes, adding more product of needed to soften the skin and smooth away any rough spots.

How often to use it

To prevent crack heels from reoccurring and improve the overall appearance of your feet repeat the process once a week.

Overnight KEVOO Treatment

Using olive oil directly on your skin is considered an effective natural treatment and ancient beauty secret. Olive oil is highly recommended to treat dry skin, eczema, and psoriasis and it can help your skin retain moisture, making it the perfect cure-all balm. It also has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, so it makes a great moisturizer for your legs, feet and especially cracked heels.

For a lovely, overnight treatment rub a generous amount of extra virgin olive oil directly into your cracked and dry heels. Massage to absorb as much product as possible and slip on a soft and cosy pair of socks to lock in the moisture. Let it soak in overnight while you are asleep and you will wake up with baby-soft feet and heels!

Repeat once a week to keep your feet hydrated and maintain the elasticity of the skin.
